• Angst? What Angst?: Despite going through the horrifying experience of being Eaten Alive, the Rangers seem largely unfazed after being released from the monster's stomach and proceed with their lives as if nothing happened. Subverted somewhat in Crystal of Nightmares when Billy has a crippling nightmare in which he relives being eaten by the toad.
• Narm: No one over the show's target audience can possibly take Kim and Billy's punk personas seriously. But that's part of the appeal.
• Nightmare Fuel: Watching the Terror Toad literally devour the Rangers can be quite distressing.
  • When Trini and Zack are caught by the monster's energy beam, they struggle and cry out as their bodies are forcefully transformed into inert balls of energy, after which they are flung into the Terror Toad's mouth and swallowed.
  • It gets arguably worse as, once his horn has been cut off, Terror Toad can no longer eat the Rangers via turning them into energy and absorbing them. Thus, he wraps his tongue around Jason and Billy and forcibly pulls them into his toothy, chomping mouth. You see their legs kicking wildly and hear them screaming as they physically disappear down his throat.
  • In both cases, when the Rangers are devoured, an image of their helmet appears on the Terror Toad's belly, as if to certify beyond doubt that they have been eaten by him or, even more morbidly, that they have become "part" of him. This can be quite distressing, seeing our brave heroes reduced to nothing more than emblems on the monster's gluttonous belly.
