  • Awesome Music: Every. Single. Episode. The editors have managed to make walking through a room be cool. Sadly, some of the music from the broadcast version was replaced for the web and DVD releases.
  • Complete Monster: Roman Nevikov is a ruthless Russian mobster and human trafficker. Responsible for kidnapping countless women to force them into prostitution, his first appearance involved him tossing one out a high story building to her death because she wanted to leave. Later returning, he places surveillance on the FBI building and has the people who helped him with that killed off. Finally, after escaping from prison, he tortures to death Jack Reese and kills off some of the FBI agents who work for him to cover his tracks. Through his cruelty, Nevikov earned his place as the Arch-Enemy of Detective Charlie Crews.
  • Fridge Brilliance: Why does Crews love fresh fruit so much? He didn't get such treats in prison. Some fans thought this was the case before the show confirmed it in the ninth episode.
  • Narm: While undoubtedly tragic, the circumstances surrounding Lena's death stretch "willing suspension of disbelief" just a tiny bit too much. So she gets in a verbal fight with Roman Nevikov, spits at him, and then he throws her out a window... except somehow she lands perfectly horizontal with a blank, passive expression on her face - one could be forgiven for initially thinking she was a mannequin or that she had been killed at a different location and then dropped - and there's no physical evidence of her having been grabbed or having tried to fight back at all (which you would think she would do on instinct).
