- Character Rerailment: After spending the series slowly stripping away the classic leprechaun rules in favor of constant retcons as well as removing his quirky personality in favor of more serious horror, this film gets back to having Lubdan as a limerick-spouting trickster whose gold is inherently tied to his magic.
- Questionable Casting: Many Leprechaun fans were angry over the casting of Linden Porco as Lubdan, claiming he is far too high-pitched and unable to talk properly with all the prosthetics applied to his teeth to be a suitable replacement for Warwick Davis.
- Surprisingly Improved Sequel: The movie is considered a vast improvement over Origins, which many Leprechaun fans complained threw off the direction of the film series for not even featuring a genuine leprechaun but rather a completely different monster that looked more like a hairless goblin that doesn't wear clothes nor even speak English, claiming Back 2 tha Hood was the last true movie in the series that can be considered canon.
