- Ending Fatigue: Critic reviews for the start of the storyline started off fairly positive until by the end they grew lukewarm. Fan reaction mirrored this as fans were initially pumped by both reveal that Kindred was the original Harry Osborn and that it was tying back into One More Day but opinions soured over the fact that the arc ended with a No Ending. Fans who were expecting this arc to finally resolve the Kindred storyline were upset to learn that this was merely setting up the next stage of the Myth Arc.
- Epileptic Trees: Many fans believe that, with the heavy OMD-vibes, the Harry who is Kindred is actually the pre-OMD Harry, possibly explaining how Harry came back to life. Issue 53 adds fuel to this fire by virtue of being a Whole Episode Flashback centered around Harry's coming home party — the final segment of One More Day.
- Further fuel added to this theory in #69 where Carlie Cooper is abducted and put into a cell with…Harry Osborn, describing how he was attacked by Kindred.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: On two fronts concerning the "Spider-Family."
- Ben and Kaine Parker are mysteriously unaccounted for in this storyline. This is despite the fact that Kindred is targetting the Spiders to hurt Peter, one would think that his "brothers" would be prime targets. Not helping that they also have a more direct connection to Peter than say, Jessica or Anya.
- The group that are present, Miles, Gwen, Cindy, Jessica and Anya, don't really get to do anything and largely act out of character. Those who were looking forward to them finally playing a role in the storyline was disappointed to see them mostly reduced to being The Load.
