- Aluminium Christmas Trees: The stone pillars that are one of the first things you see after starting the main part of the game are modeled after the Man'-Pupyg-Nyor (or Man-Pupu-Nyor) pillars located in the Pechora-Ilych Reserve in Komi Republic, some 60 km north from the Kholat-Syahl mountain. The original form a line rather than circle though.
- Dancing Bear: Sean Bean as The Narrator is perhaps the game's most standout feature.
- That One Level: The trek to the final page in the chapel. The path itself is roughly linear, but straying from it at all causes the flaming monster that has been stalking you throughout the game to pop up and instantly kill you, as Markiplier learned the hard way.
