  • Covered Up:
    • Both "Love at the Five and Dime" and "Goin' Gone" were originally recorded by Nanci Griffith.
    • Walk the Way the Wind Blows features a recording of Rodney Crowell's "Song for the Life", later a Top 10 hit for Alan Jackson in 1995.
    • "Come from the Heart" was previously recorded by both Don Williams and Guy Clark (whose wife, Susanna, co-wrote it).
    • Restless Heart covered "Back to the Heartbreak Kid", a cut from her debut album.
  • Tear Jerker:
    • "Where've You Been" is a touching story of a husband and wife who have a long life together. In the third verse, the wife suffers from dementia, and is unable to remember anything until she meets her husband again.
    • "Standing Knee Deep in a River (Dying of Thirst)" can be this to anyone who has had a missed opportunity in their life.
