• Harsher in Hindsight:
  • The entire fanfiction is this. Even though it correctly predicted Dabi was in fact Touya Todoroki, his personality was way off the mark. It's made explicitly clear in canon that Touya desperately wanted his father to acknowledge him and blamed his family for him turning out the way he is. More than anything, unlike in this fanfic, Touya hated Shoto, and at one point even tried to kill him. It's quite jarring seeing the normal, if aloof boy Touya is in this fic, and going on to the actual story to find out he was already on the path to villainy before he was even a teenager.
  • Endeavor's reaction first reaction to Touya being Dabi in this fic is nothing but disappointment and shame over his son becoming a villain, and has nothing nice or sympathetic to say to him. In canon, Endeavor is horrified that his son is truely alive, and blames no one but himself for turning him into one. He's so ashamed that he doesn't know if he could truely face him.
• Launcher of a Thousand Ships: Readers of the fic have commented on multiple potential ships between Touya and other members of class 1-A, especially Mina and Bakugou.
• The Woobie: Touya is a scared, confused teenager who is suddenly thrust into a future where he learns he is a mass-murdering villain, almost everyone is distrustful of or hates him, and that it's only a matter of time before he returns to being a monster again. He desperately wants to be good and become a hero, but he knows that everything will ultimately be futile once he reverts back to being Dabi. He's drowning in his own guilt when he learns that he attacked his youngest brother on multiple occasions and is terrified of what his siblings think of him in the present.
