• Crosses the Line Twice: Amity constantly trying to kill Oscura as a way to atone for the part she played in her rise to power isn't really funny, especially with how easy it is for Oscura to thwart her attempts. Amity trying to assassinate Oscura while on the toilet is another story, especially when, of all things, this is the assassination attempt that upset Oscura the most.
• Harsher in Hindsight: The fic ends with Oscura usurping control over the Boiling Isles after killing Emperor Belos, all of her friendships ruined. At the start of "Watching and Dreaming", Luz is briefly trapped in an illusion where she is dressed like Belos while her friends turn against her.
