YMMV / I'll Meet You on Route 62

Go To

  • Accidental Aesop: Stop running away and face your fears if you want to lead a much better life in the future.
  • Awesome Art: The chapter illustrations on the author's DeviantArt account. Sure, they start off a bit shoddy, but they get better nonetheless and go very well with the story.
  • Broken Base: Although the author has tried to keep everybody in-character as much as she could, there have been some criticism surrounding the Sheriff's characterization. Some think that he's just being a Well-Intentioned Extremist who's still fairly likable, while others find him to be a raging jerkass that detracts from how he was portrayed in the film.
  • Iron Woobie: Mack (quite literally in this case). Not as much of a woobie as Vee, but throughout the story, he has admitted to feeling lonely and useless a lot, but that hasn't stopped him from continuing on with his life. He also endures a lot of pain throughout the story just to ensure Vee's safety.
  • The Woobie:
    • Vee. Her life has been pretty much a living hell and desperately tries to escape it. She worked at an escort service where she was forced to provide sexual pleasure for random men, often endured abuse from Slade and the rest of the escort employees, and almost gets killed near the end of the story.
    • Yvette, one of the cars working for Slade and was the only one who showed Vee any respect. She's very fragile and timid, and gets beaten up by Slade and his men when she refused to tell them where Vee was.
