• Friendly Fandoms: Most notably with fans of British YouTube channel Lawrie's Mechanical Marvels which has a similar focus on railroading and whose host Lawrie bears a strong resemblance to Hyce. Hyce has noted on it himself, and an official crossover between the two channels finally occurred when Lawrie made a cameo appearance in a Hyce video talking about railroader clothing.
• Memetic Mutation: "LIMES!"^note From a video at the Colorado Railroad Museum where in an after hours trivia game, where the participants started throwing the limes in their beers at those who got wrong answers.
  • Also staunch arguments that the K-37 does not count as a converted standard gauge locomotive as well. ^note The boilers and tenders of the K-37 were recycled from the older C-41 standard gauge locomotives, where as the engine (the frame, pistons, wheels and valve gear) were built brand new for the K-37. Hyce famously argues the new engine is enough to make the K-37 a new locomotive, and not a conversion of the older C-41 to narrow gauge.
• Popular with Furries: Mark's channel logo is a Hyacinth Macaw in a railroad hat, which was included as a cameo in Railroading Stinks. Hyce's music collaborator and fellow former Railroads Online! dev Tom Coletti (aka Wings & Strings), is known for their artwork featuring furries and steam locomotives.
