• Moe: Ted's second cousin Charity is quite adorable, with how she assumes that she's getting the presents Ted bought (her parents say they're donating them to charity) and her enthusiasm at chanting the word "Grinch" over and over again as her mother get horrified.
• Never Live It Down: Lily's detractors tend to hold this episode against her for being annoyed at Ted calling her a bad word months ago when she'd broken off her engagement to Marshall, and left him heartbroken for months all for a failed attempt to find herself in San Francisco. The detractors ignore that Lily has a huge Heel Realization and tracks Ted down to apologise to him, admitting "I was kind of a Grinch" and the fact that Ted never accepts responsibility for calling her that word, instead trying to dump the blame onto Barney and Marshall.
