YMMV / Green Lantern (Infinite Frontier)

Go To

  • Audience-Alienating Premise: The series begins with the Green Lanterns' central power battery being destroyed, effectively destroying the Corps as a unified force and leading to multiple fan favorite characters either being Killed Offscreen (whether via suffocating in the vacuum of space when their rings stopped working, or subsequently being hunted down by the Qinoori) or left to an Uncertain Doom (Kyle Rayner and Guy Gardner simply vanishing without a trace). While Thorne promised that these were going to be addressed and resolved, many readers dropped the series altogether, not wanting to invest in a series with such a grim premise. This lead to his run being cancelled, most of his changes being undone for Dark Crisis, and what wasn't undone by that being subsequently resolved in a one-shot written by Thorne.
  • Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: It can be rather difficult to care about the story, given that the backbone of it revolves around almost every Green Lantern being de-powered by the destruction of the central power battery and a large number of them being killed off either from perishing in the vacuum of space when their rings ceased to function or being hunted down by the Qinoori.
