  • Friendly Fandoms: His fanbase tend to overlap with Josh from Let's Game It Out, due to their similar "play the game in all the wrong ways possible" and penchant in torturing poor NPC.
  • Memetic Badass: Danny, a young boy who sometimes makes boards for Gray. While initially he was assigned to make a board for $1, his boards were surprisingly well done for the trivial amount of money he was paid and Gray upgraded him to the $10 board. Then, after a surprisingly difficult $10 board where he basically blackmailed Gray into bringing him up to the $50 tier (Gray couldn't win unless he promised to do so), Danny made a biking board so hard that Gray paid him $500 for it. Viewers have joked that if Danny ever makes a $1000 board (the highest tier), even Gray won't be able to complete it.
  • Nightmare Retardant:
    • Gray's playthrough of The Baby in Yellow has shades of this, with Gray starting by attempting to change the baby's diaper on a stove (and lamenting that he can't light it), before shutting the baby in a fridge. When the baby starts demonstrating its demonic powers, such as teleportation and reality warping, Gray sounds more frustrated than freaked out.
    • His playthrough of The Horrorscope does this too. Though he does admit to being freaked out by some of the creepier questions (for example, "if I told you there was someone hiding in your room right now, would you believe me?") he kept up a humorous air through the whole thing. At the end when the game told him he was cursed for death by an object that was brought into his house against his will, he says he already knew that and insists the item in question is his cat, who spent the entire episode whining at him from outside his door.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Evan Thorne won the episode "i gave a woman 100 husbands and this happened", and then was brought back with a new name for the episode "i gave a man 100 wives and this happened". Given the title of that new episode, some fans thought his new name should have followed the theme set by Florida Man and Australian Man, and been Utah Man. The obvious joke was ignored, however, with Gray naming him Kyle instead.
  • Ugly Cute: Spleens and Tonsils, judging by them having some fan art if you look up GrayStillPlays fan art. Gray then turned the two into kittens in this video, making them even more freakish and yet adorable.
