- Fridge Brilliance: Turning Catwoman into Catbird, where she functions as Batman's sidekick, partner, and love interest, while incorporating elements from Robin, seems to be a rather humorous take on the Ho Yay subtext between Batman and Dick Grayson by mixing it with his on/off relationship with Selina Kyle.
- Genius Bonus: Not only is Batwing's Gothtopia name, Flying Fox, a reference to his real name, Luke Fox, it's also the name for a species of bat.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The Gothtopia crossover was actually somewhat limited compared to previous Bat Family crossovers, even though Batwoman, Talon, and the Penguin all received new identities in this fake world, none of them were featured in any tie-in issues nor did they hold any real significance on the story.
