• Unintentional Period Piece:
  • Gerry uses a woman's stolen driver licence to rent the Mini. New Zealand switched to photo driver licences in 1999, making it pretty obvious that the licence was stolen.
  • Gerry and John stop in the old Cromwell town centre. In the late 1980s, the town centre was flooded by Lake Dunstan as part of the Clyde hydroelectric dam project.
  • The Christchurch Cathedral and most of the buildings around it were severely damaged in the 2011 Canterbury earthquakes.
