- First Installment Wins: Entertainment! is the album that everyone points back to as being groundbreaking and influential. Solid Gold is well-respected, but not nearly to the same degree. Very little after gets much respect.
- Genius Bonus: Their songs are peppered with references to Marxist themes.
- They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Critics and fans generally don't care for the more accessible direction their sound went after Solid Gold, with a few exceptions ("We Live As We Dream, Alone", "I Love A Man In Uniform"), while the albums made after Jon King's departure in the early '10s have had very mixed receptions.
