• Adaptation Displacement: Although the original Garfielf meme is still more well-known, Fist of the b0rf Star is considered by its fans to be far superior than the original, and has received several very high-quality pieces of fan art/adaptations.
• Approval of God: Paper Townes is a parody of John Green's novel, Paper Towns. John Green himself actually commented on the video, saying that he liked it.
• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: The entire series is pretty bizarre, yeah, but what stands out is a moment during the initial series where Jon and Garfield's fight causes them to interrupt a recording session for Game Grumps, when normally the only characters to appear in the entire saga are from newspaper comics, bar that Paper Towns reference. Garfield kills them and then the fight moves on without any further mention.
  • A similar incident happens in the second series as well, though with the cast of the Mega64 Podcast instead.
