• Alternate Character Interpretation: Quagmire's dislike of Brian in reflection of his dislike for dogs in general. Does Quagmire's exceptional disgust for Brian's behaviour compared to everyone else stem from the petty fact he is a dog, or did Brian shape Quagmire's contemptable view of dogs in the first place?
• Jerkass Woobie: Quagmire. He asks Brian for help with getting with the dog-loving Carrie, but Brian only agrees so he can watch their relationship fall apart due to Quagmire's dislike for dogs. Due to Carrie uncovering a "Will You Marry Me" written and sent to her by Brian in Quagmire's name, Quagmire ends up engaged with Carrie and has to bring in and care for Carrie's many dogs in his house. At the engagement party, he ends up getting trampled and injured by Carrie's dogs, forcing him to admit his dislike of dogs to Carrie, who then ends their relationship as Brian cruelly gloats to Quagmire's face.
