YMMV / Escape From The Hokage's Hat

  • Harsher in Hindsight: As canon proves later Naruto can't grow an arm back on his own.
  • Ron the Death Eater: Averted. Sakura, Kakashi and Sasuke's character are treated with dignity. Sasuke goes to jail but that's because he was about to defect to a known enemy of Konoha. Sakura actually feels guilty for Naruto getting hurt bringing Sasuke back, actually acknowledges that what Sasuke did was wrong and starts trying to be a better person to everyone. While Kakashi is called out for being a "negligent teacher", he at least gets a chance to defend himself and actually cares for all of Team 7 and is just shown to have a minor yet justified case of Skewed Priorities (and additionally, he has rather good reasoning for his actions, but his inexperience as a teacher led to poor implementation).

  • Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped: It's all right to grieve but at some point you'll have to learn to grow up and stop wallowing in self-pity. Just because you mean well, it doesn't make what you're doing right. Idealism can, at times, cause problems if not kept in check.
