- Angst Aversion: Given that this is a dark reinterpretation with lots of angst, some Peter Pan fans have avoided watching East of Kensington.
- Awesome Music: As depressing as the background music in this film is you can't deny its beauty.
- They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: The YouTube version cuts out about the first seven minutes. While the plot can hold up without those scenes a lot of fans claim it doesn't have the same "oompf."
- What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: Parents have reportedly allowed their young children to watch the short, without watching it themselves, and suffered for their mistake by way of crying children.
