YMMV / Dress Up! Time Princess

  • Les Yay: Charlotte Harris from "Gotham Memoirs" is an extremely popular character to ship with the protagonist, despite the lack of a romantic route for her. Fan reception to her character led to the developers adding a temporary story centered around her and the protagonist in a plot that included several calls to them being "partners for life" and the protagonist kissing her in the head in a CG (the story does imply it was a kiss on the lips, however).
    • Later books seem to realize they have an LBGT+ fanbase as "Saga of Viera" has Salvia overtly flirt with the protagonist and "Taisho Adventures" has an ending with Kuroko that is implicitly romantic.
  • It's Short, So It Sucks!: Common complaints about the game include that there are too many short stories that feel rushed and that the developers should focus into finishing unfinished two-chapter stories (like "Helen of Sparta" and "Shadows of London") instead of adding new one-chapter stories.
  • Narm: In "Queen Marie" on the Lafayette romance route, two key emotional scenes have them tell him the player character's name instead of Marie's, symbolizing that it is the player character who truly loves him and not Marie herself. Except since the name is going to be your account's username, this is far more likely to be very silly given that most people do not use normal human names for their gaming account handles. Many new players also don't know they can change from their default usernames, which can lead to a passionate romance between Marquis de Lafayette and "Player10003487".
  • That One Level: Stage 1-9 of "Swan Lake" is easily the most challenging level in the book and because this is also a free starter book now, it's much more challenging for new players than any level in the other two starter books for a brand new player. It requires the player to have significantly higher stat items than the earlier levels to reach Perfect status, but they must get a perfect on this level or they cannot complete the next one due to missing a required item only given out by scoring Perfect on 1-9. Even when this was converted to a starter book and the scores lowered across the board, it still requires the player to have grinded a lot more by this point than the other two starter books and grinding the book-specific relics won't help much because they don't support either of the tags needed to pass the level. They also must borrow a pair of shoes that are unlocked by a later level in "Swan Lake", meaning they have to hook up with someone that's already cleared the book to finish the book! Many a newbie player learns that they will have to still hop over to the "Queen Marie" book to grab a better relic and raise their Fashion Research rankings before they can clear this stage.
