- Values Dissonance: Chaka decides she's going to do do something so shocking, so outre, that Mecca won't dare try to copy her. So she...shaves off all her pubic hair. Twenty years later, Brazilian waxes are, if not the norm, certainly a thriving industry.
- The Woobie: Lizzie. She's constantly depressed, has just barely enough strength to open a photo copier, Chaka and Mecca talk shit about her behind her back, and Chaka once left her on hold to hang out with Mecca and didn't call her back.
