  • Growing the Beard: The LJN Defender had its own followers, but things really got interesting when Innocent Until Proven Guilty made its debut.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: The LJN Defender episode for Spirit of Speed 1937 opens with Matt somberly welcoming his viewers to "the end" before an In Memoriam screen for the show comes up, implying the show is ending just before Matt reveals he's only joking and that "the end" he's referring is that of LJN as a company since Spirit of Speed was the last game to have the LJN label and reassurring the viewer that he still has plenty of games to review before LJN Defender actually ends. The show never saw a proper ending as Matt stopped making videos for the Cygnus Destroyer channel and later deleted it altogether.
  • Heartwarming Moments: He took an analysis of Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) in his Innocent Until Proven Guilty series, having a far more optimistic opinion of the story and ambition of the project (though he still found the super speed sections and glitches frustrating). In the end, his verdict of the game was Innocent. Really says something about a person's attitude when they can stomach such an infamous game.
