• Common Knowledge: It's accepted as fact by many that Kane named the sadistic Big Bad Tinker after Jack Tinker, the theatre critic for the Daily Mail who famously trashed Blasted; however, there exists absolutely no evidence that this was the reason.
• Complete Monster: Tinker is in charge of a "university" that's more like a concentration camp or a Bedlam House mental asylum, controlling every aspect of his victims' lives and subjecting them to the most horrific humiliations and violations imaginable.
• Nightmare Fuel:
  • As you might expect from a play that features someone's tongue getting cut out onstage.
  • Really, just about any of the torture scenes qualify.
• The Woobie: Just about every character except for Tinker, but Robin may get the worst of it.
