- Even Better Sequel: Even though the first game is considered adequate by itself, almost everyone agrees that the second blows it out of the water, with its Art Evolution, new mechanics, and far less unfair stage hazards.
- That One Level: Neither Outer Space nor Metropolis get much love from players of the original game, as many will cite both stages' One-Hit Kill stage hazards that come too fast for players to react and thus avoid. It is telling that Chaos Faction 2's new batch of stages come with more telegraphed hazards.
