To whit: Munsey Putting on the Reich up to eleven, coupled with the fat, business-suit-wearing warden—a blatant embodiment of notions linking Capitalism ("fat capitalist pigs!") to Fascism; Burt Lancaster as a Working-Class Hero leading a worker's revolt where all the "exploited" prisoners unite, and... Essentially, one gets the impression that this film is the biggest reason Jules Dassin was targeted for blacklisting.
