YMMV / Book of Jonah

Go To

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Did Jonah volunteer to be cast into the sea because he thought he deserved it, to nobly save the other sailors, or hoping death could be an escape from going to Nineveh?
  • Signature Scene: Yep, this is the one where the dude gets swallowed by the giant fish (most often depicted as a whale, which back then was considered a fish).
  • Wangst: Jonah cares more about a plant dying than saving all the people of Nineveh from destruction, insisting it makes him so angry that he wants to die. God calls Jonah out on this.
