YMMV / Blue Fire

  • That One Level: While the main game is quite relaxed and balanced some of the harder "Void" segments will certainly come across as unnecessary difficult. Behaving more like Super Meat Boy than the game you play the rest of the 90% of the time.
  • Game-Breaker: The ability to unlock triple jump and a double dash does make a lot of the platforming redundant. Does seem that the devs did design a few sections (or at least short-cuts) with these in mind though.
  • Moe: The main character. Who is a large headed dual-wielding badass with two opposing forces in their body does come across as overally cute. Especially when they're using emotes.
  • Padding: At some point you're forced to revisit previous areas to fight three bosses to unlock the ending, fair enough with the Metroidvania style of the game giving you access to new items and locations.. But one of those three bosses requires you to combine their broken soul into four pieces, which requires you to go back to three (the fourth being the area around where the door is) which is annoying enough. However the game has decide to take a page from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess where you have to collect the fragments of fragments to proceed.
