• Hilarious in Hindsight: Both the first wave of Maximals and the first wave of 2.0 Predacons are characters who did not appear in the forms they are based on in the original show.
  • The Maximals are inspired by the versions of the Maximals who appeared in Beast Machines; while Jack's Maximal form is mostly original with influecnes from other characters, Miko is derived from Airazor, who was merged with Tigatron as Tigerhawk, who perished at the end of the Beast Wars, while Rhinox, who Raf became, was famously converted into the Vehicon general Tankor.
  • Meanwhile, the 2.0 Predacons are based on Transmetal figures; Terrosaur was killed in the season 2 opening, while Inferno and Waspinator were among the few non-Fuzors who go through the entire story without being upgraded at any point.
    • Additionally, the initial 2.0 Predacons were created from the Vehicons whose sparks were extracted when Smokescreen used the spark extractor, while the generals of the original Vehicons were Predacon and Maximal sparks implanted into Vehicon bodies, most significantly Waspinator, who became Thrust.
