- Alternative Character Interpretation: Is Kyle a misunderstood anti-hero, or just a villain in denial? There are also hints that Mike might not be as pure and naive as he seems, although he does seem to be genuinely a hero.
- Ambiguously Gay: Kyle tends to fixate on Mighty Mike's appearance, with a notable example being during the gym class scene in The Mad Mask. Kyle also trusts the Mad Mask suspiciously quickly, and during Yesterday Again acts like he's on the receiving end of a breakup.
