Aquaman: Battle for Atlantis

Go To

  • Complacent Gaming Syndrome: The game provides you with a myriad of complex combos to use when simply Button Mashing is the most effective way to defeat foes.
  • Continuity Lock-Out: The game assumes familiarity with Aquaman's lore and doesn't explain Black Manta's history with Arthur or who his wife Mera is until a little less than halfway through the game, making it difficult for newcomers to get invested.
  • Enjoy the Story, Skip the Game: While gameplay is limited and can quickly become repetitive, the story has highlights from several of Aquaman's adventures, has characterizations accurate to the comics, and takes twists and turns before climaxing in a battle between brothers.
  • Good Bad Bugs: A glitch involving the hair animations can make Arthur look like he's going bald.
  • The Problem with Licensed Games: The game is universally considered one of the worst video games ever created due to extremely repetitive gameplay, ugly environments, and a confusing combat system that's easier to just button-mash with.
  • Suspiciously Similar Song: Black Manta's theme sounds like a serial-numbers filed off version of the Imperial March from Star Wars.
