YMMV / Adventure Comics

  • Harsher in Hindsight: The cover of issue #383 (1969) has Supergirl turned into a ghost and trapped in an alternate universe where no one knows she's alive... Flash-forward to the Post-Crisis universe where no one remembers Kara Zor-El ever existed and she's merely an invisible spirit until the appearance of her Post-Crisis counterpart in The Supergirl from Krypton (2004).
  • Magazine Decay: Adventure Comics used to be an anthology comic with a number of different features in them in a variety of genres. As the superhero genre took over the comics market, most of them were cancelled, except for the ones that had superheroes, in which case the superhero would take over the book. While the star was originally Superboy, eventually the Legion of Super-Heroes took over the title, then proceeded to be swapped with Supergirl (which had been a backup in Action since her creation), who became the star from then on.
  • Older Than They Think: Peter David's Supergirl's fans think she's more unique than the original Supergirl because of her stories' supernatural bent. However, Kara Zor-El ran into and fought ghosts, sorcerers and demons every so often during her Adventure Comics run in the early 70's.
  • Theiss Titillation Theory: Issue #409 featured one of the skimpier super-hero outifts worn by Supergirl ever: a completely backless bathing suit-like costume which displayed her Sideboob prominently.
