.After the death of his grandmother, Leon is sent to an orphanage, and put in a new school. On his first day, he finds out that his orphanage roommate is a the troublemaker Gilbert who has been send back from multiple homes for bad behavior. Stuck together, the two start to form a relationship that brings conflict to Leon's life.
This web comic provides examples of:
- Abusive Parents: Plenty of children in the orphanage have come from bad homes, and even some outside of it.
- Elias's father is apparently homophobic, given how terrified he is of anyone finding out that he's in a relationship with Gilbert.
- Mio's parents were alcoholics that were deemed unfit to be his guardians, which is way he was sent to the orphanage, and were his difficulties with his temper came from.
- On a more amusing note, Gilbert is convinced his mother, whom he doesn't remember, hated him, on account of the fact that she named him Gilbert.
- Acquaintance Denial: Not wanting to draw attention to himself, Leon lies about being in the orphanage at school, much to Gilbert's annoyance.
- Elias and Gilbert pretend to not be together when on school.
- Ambiguously Bi: In spite of previously only being interested in girls, Leon starts blushing when Gilbert smiles at him, and he realizes that what's he's feeling is not simply pity but actual attraction.
- Armoured Closet Gay: Elias is "very" determined to make sure no one finds out he's gay, and in a relationship with Gilbert.
- Big Brother Instinct: Gilbert towards the rest of the children, specially Mio.
- Catapult Nightmare: Gilbert wakes up from a nightmare like that.
- Closet Key: Gilbert was this to Elias and as of chapter 09, Leon as well.
- Dark and Troubled Past: Plenty of characters have rather painful pasts.
- Mio's parents were abusive and alcoholic, and his trauma still affects him to this day.
- Ida lost her family in an accident, and has survivor's guilt because of it.
- According to Gilbert He killed someone. And according to Elias he was groomed by the schools former coach
- Friends with Benefits: Gilbert and Elias have a relationship like that, though is implied Elias has more complicated feelings.
- Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Gilbert has a head full of golden locks, and despite his antisocial exterior he's a genuinely caring person.
- Like Brother and Sister: Gibert and Ida have this relationship.
