Whitty's name and human DNA came from Julian.
Julian bears quite a striking resemblance to Whitty, and since Whitty is 20% human and 80% something else, it might make sense that he got his human DNA from Julian. A possible theory is that when Whitty was being created, somehow the scientists brought Julian to their lab and managed to get a sample of his DNA, which they implanted into the doomsday device they were working on at the time.
Whitty was created to be the new and improved Zeeky Bomb.
A bomb that can destroy a city yet still be fine afterwards; and no need to say words like Zeeky boogy doog! It's the perfect upgrade!
