Tia from The Queen is Brice's mother
We learn that King Clarkson had an affair with another woman, which resulted in them having a bastard child, Brice. Back in The Queen, we learn that Tia supposedly slept with Clarkson. This could be possible since Madeleine pointed out she was very smug the morning after, and did not explicitly state whether she did or did not sleep with him. We also don't know Tia's last name, so it could've been Manor. She later met Clarkson later on, as perhaps her husband had connections to him, and began and relapsed with Clarkson and became his mistress.
King Clarkson hates America because she reminds him of his mother, and Clarkson doesn't want Maxon to repeat his parents' mistakes
Could the reason Clarkson disliking America is more than her caste? Perhaps he sees her like Queen Abby: impulsive, hotheaded, and does things without thinking. Clarkson thinks these traits might lead her into becoming Abby, and so he wants him to marry someone like Natalie or Elise because besides their usefulness, they don't rush headlong into things and someone like Elise or Kriss think things more carefully. Is this a usual tale of "son don't marry that dirt poor girl" or "son, I don't want your child to end up like me"?
