• The real Big Bad is the anti-Skippy Alien Space Bat; Skippy doesn't like to talk about him/her, so he hoped that if Janet didn't know about the anti-Skippy, Jenny Nowhere would be off meddling with other universes and timelines first. The strategy seems to have worked - so far, anyway, since 50+ years later Janet's changes have "sunk in" enough to make society more resistant to the kind of security-state empire-building common to regimes in our time line.
