The Eternal Sphere became real the same way the the
Permutation City Autoverse did
In
Permutation City, the main characters use what might be called philosophical and mathematical "tricks" to set themselves up as virtual gods in a universe in which they're immortal and have access to unlimited computing power.
note Explaining the details would take an essay as long as the novel. And one of the things they try doing with their power is simulating a toy universe with laws of physics that allow for an artificial chemistry and artificial life that evolves intelligence. Eventually, because the universe they're simulating is more like a "real world" than the mathematical one they're living in, they start to find that they can no longer alter the simulated universe and that their own mathematical universe seems to be breaking down.
This is exactly what happened to the 4D beings that created the Eternal Sphere: their simulation contained conscious observers and was so "realistic" that it literally became a real universe, which is why Fayt's consciousness survived Luthor "deleting" the Eternal Sphere and why Fayt and party were able to use Symbology in 4D space: the physics at the "boundary" between the Eternal Sphere and 4D space were starting to meld together. (Unlike the Permutation City example, 4D space did have enough reality of its own to survive the Eternal Sphere also becoming real.)
Maria Traydor is in fact a member of the esteemed Kenny family
Every Star Ocean has had a Kenny in it, save for this one. However, if you look at the facts of the Kenny family as of Star Ocean: The Divine Force, blue hair runs in the family, as does skill at marksmanship and the skill to command. Maria has all of this, and was orphaned as a child without knowing her real parents. Maria's true name may in fact be Maria Kenny. (Fayt also has blue hair despite being the biological son of Dr. Leingod, but he also misses out the marksmanship and command skills)
- This is consistent with the long-standing theory that Maria is Fayt's sister and that this plotline was dropped. We don't know Ryoko Leingod's maiden name.
In any case of Star Ocean 3 R, the story will change/be retconned
Everything will proceed very similarly in the beginning. However, the infamous
Plot Twist of
the world is a massive MMORPG by 4D beings will be reworked into something similar, but without the
Plot Twist. Like, for example,
turning the 4D beings into actual precursor race that existed wthin the verse.We can chalk it up with Maria's Alteration power changing things into basically making an Alternate Universe and timeline. Therefore, it's an attempt for Square-Enix to do damage control of the infamous Plot Twist that they might not be very proud of, what with even Anamnesis taking a potshot at it.
