Idea for Season 3.
Assuming the show is renewed for Season 3, it seems as if the show will have hit a dead end with the death of Pablo Escobar and the fall of the Medellin Cartel. The show could cover the fall of "Freeway" Rick Ross's LA drug empire and the Cali Cartel. The latter is foreshadowed when Murphy tells Pacho Herrera that once Pablo goes down, he'll be coming for him, and, indeed, law enforcement turned their attention on the Cali Cartel after the Medellin Cartel was finished.
  • This is more or less confirmed. A teaser for season 3 shows a shot of Escobar fading out and being replaced by the head of the Cali Cartel ie season three will focus on the takedown of the Cali Cartel in the mid-90s.

The series will move to Mexico in Season 4.
Today, Mexico is the capital of the world cocaine trade. It seems likely that after showing the falls of Colombia's Medellin and Cali Cartels, the show would move on to their successors in Mexico.
  • Hinted at in Season 3. We are introduced to the Juarez cartel early on in the season. And in the finale, we see that DEA has decided to focus on Mexico, with Agent Peña being offered an assignment at Mexico City. The last few minutes show of the finale, we even see a drug smuggling operation on the Rio Grande, which, furthermore, suggests that a possible future season could be set in Mexico. However, Agent Peña has refused the offer and has resigned from the DEA, such that he may not return in the next season (although his expression at the end, while seeing the abovementioned smuggling run from his fence, suggests that he is contemplating a return to the DEA).

There will be a nod to Vice City sometime down the line
One does not simply make a show about drugs, have it feature Miami and not reference Vice City or at least Scarface at some point.
