She is roleplaying out how the oy pea person was feeling sick, and how they can now go the library since he's feeling better But the girl pea person doesn't know how to read.It's common for kids to roleplay out situations that have happened to them. The girl pea person has a flower on her head, like Elodie, and doesn't know how to read, like a typical three-year-old. Maybe she represents Elodie.
The boy pea person looks older and was the person who offered to go to the library in the first place. Maybe that's her dad or brother.
The way Barnaby reacted to her not wanting a hug made it imply that under normal circumstances, she would accept one. Maybe a member of her family has a cold or another sickness and Elodie didn't want to accidentally pass it on.
