The Secret Man is actually the Big Bad under a disguise
There is actually no proof, but he (she?) keeps his identity secret. Also, before joining the party, we see that he followed the group.

The Secret Man comes from the Sarranid Sultanate
The Sarranid Sultanate is absent from the mod (although the mod needs Warband) but The Secret Man wears Sarranid-like sword, armour and helmet.

The Sarranid Sultanate will be added for the Chapter 2 release
Unlikely, but I expect this.

Light & Darkness: Heroes of Calradia is a heavily fictionalized version of the historical events of Mount & Blade
Mount & Blade is a strictly historical account of the war in Calradia, devoid of any supernatural element. Compaired to Mount & Blade, Light & Darkness: Heroes of Calradia sounds a lot like an epic legend, with the return of an evil empire, magical artifacts, and typical Fantasy creatures, mixed with an actual historical setting (in-universe) and real historical characters.

Chapter 1 dream cutscene is a premonitory dream
Think about it: the hero goes alone to what seems to be the Big Bad fortress, wearing a big armor and wielding a giantFlaming Sword (Infinity +1 Sword?). It could be how is supposed to end the story: a Boss Fight in what looks like The Very Definitely Final Dungeon.

Light & Darkness: Heroes of Calradia is set in the far future of Middle-Earth
There are several Middle-Earth themed unique weapons in the game. The only factions appearing in the mod are Human and the map looks absolutly not like the Middle-Earth one, meaning that it is set a very long time after the end of the Third Age.
  • The Swadians look like a merging of Gondor (armoured troops) and Rohan (cavalry specialist). Note that the Swadian Kingdom is located on a relativly flat land, like Rohan.
  • The Nords could be descendants of Rohirrim, who leave their land to move to the coast and then progressivly lost their horsemen-based tactics.
  • The Khergits are descendants of Eastern tribes.
  • The Durhua Empire seems to originate from Mordor's Remnants, hypothesis confirmed by the appearance of the character appearing during the opening of Chapter 1 (the same armour and helmet that the Witch-King of Angmar). Saruman's broken staff had obviously been rebuilt and ended in the Witch-King hands.
  • Although absent from the mod, the Sarranids are obvious descendants of inhabitants of the Near-Harad.
