Old Gangster is remembering himself as taller and more handsome than he really was.
- This can reconcile the casting of 6'3" Paul Bettany to represent a younger version of the older man portrayed by 5'8" Malcolm McDowell. People do tend to shrink in height as they age but usually not by a full seven inches. And Gangster was only supposed be in his early fifties in the present day segments. That being said, ignoring the height differences, this can also suggest that in reality, Gangster didn't necessarily look that much like young Malcolm either. And that he aged badly compared to Freddy who spent years in prison.
