WMG / Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders

Go To

The third film will be a crossover between the modern Batman and Batman '66
Probably in time for the 80th anniversary of Batman in 2019. The DCAOM Batman (voiced by either Jason O'Mara, or better yet, Kevin Conroy) teams up with the '66 Batman (voiced by Adam West of course!) in a "Batman of Two Worlds" story that honors both the 'Dark Knight' and 'Caped Crusader' interpretations of the character. The story could begin with some villain who the modern Batman chases into the '66 world, where he teams up with '66 Batman. And the second half could be '66 Batman making his way into modern Batman's world. Among the fun moments of this film would be modern Batman meeting '66 versions of Robin and Batgirl (and being either amused or exasperated at the sheer incompetent buffoonery of '66 Gordon and Chief O'Hara); while '66 Batman meets Nightwing and Damian Wayne. Expect TONS of in-jokes and meta-comments about the divisiveness between fans of the Silver Age and fans of darker 'grim and gritty' Modern Age superhero stories.

Burt Ward will replace Adam West in the third movie.
Robin is being trained to be the next Batman. Adam West can't be replaced as Bruce Wayne's Batman, so the logical step would be Burt being the following incarnation with a new Robin.

The second movie, Batman vs Two Face, will act as the finale to the entire show
You can't continue without Adam West, you just can't. As a result the film, which was completed before West died, has been altered to end with Dick becoming this universe's version of Nightwing. The villains will reform, including Catwoman, who ends up in a relationship with Batman, a development that was teased throughout the first two seasons of the show, but was never resolved.
  • Jossed. With the exception of a couple new villains (maybe) running amok in Gotham, Status Quo Remains God throughout Batman vs. Two-Face.

The third movie will feature Batgirl teaming up with the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman.
  • Ward may or may not cameo as Robin, but whether Batman is still operating will likely remain ambiguous.

If Superman appears in the third movie, it would be the George Reeves Superman.
  • Maybe George Reeves Superman was the first super hero in this universe, and Batman came along years after his retirement.
