This game provides examples of:

  • Chaos Architecture: Mostly subverted by natural boundaries around the kingdom. However certain screens such as looking down from the mountain, telescope room, or windows from Manananna's house or closeups in the introduction in which stuff to the south appears to the north beyond the mountain. The town for example switches locations.
  • Jump Scare: Depending on how desensitized you are to the format. Manannan will appear the hell out of nowhere. In the AGD remake, he appears instantly (where it was slower in the original) with more subtle music, yet the game warns you beforehand when he'll be arriving. The IA version is probably the worst offender of the three, as the music that plays when he appears is loud organ music.
  • Rewarded as a Traitor Deserves: In the Infamous Adventures remake, a maid from Castle Daventry is the one who delivers Manannan's latest slave to him. She asks him for her reward, and he gives it in the form of a free cremation ceremony.
  • Shout-Out: The last part of the game takes place in several areas from King's Quest I: Quest For The Crown.
    • In the IA remake the two lizards do a variation of Cheech and Chong's Santa Claus routine.
    • Also in the IA remake, if you talk to Manannan's painting the narrator says "This is not Harry Potter, the painting does not talk back"
    • Shamir Shamazel from KQ 6 occasionally can be seen in the Store.
    • After several trips Manannan travels to see Mordack at his island.
    • You can meet Guybrush Threepwood in the Pirate Ship.
