• Creator Backlash: Downplayed. Bill Meléndez was not fond of this special, not because he thought it was bad, but because he found the subject matter very painful.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: Subverted: For decades, this special's only physical home video releases were a mid-'90s Paramount VHS, not to mention being the B-side to the Laserdisc release of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown in the same timeframe. After Warner Home Video obtained rights to the Peanuts specials, they put this one up for download, and gave it a 2015 DVD release in the Peanuts Emmy-Honored Collection.
