Trivia / Viva La Bam

Go To

  • Creator Backlash: Brandon Di Camillo never had any problems with the cast, but he did find working for MTV to be "too corporate".
  • Deleted Scene: A segment for the Viva la Europe episodes included one filmed where Ryan would be thrown over an Icelandic waterfall in a barrel after a bold bet he made. MTV was worried this might've been too dangerous for people to possibly emulate, so this was cut from airing. The segment was included as a bonus on the DVD Viva la Bands.
  • Executive Meddling: Averted; Unlike Jackass, MTV almost never intervened with the content of the show, reportedly giving him $300,000 an episode and telling him "Use this how you need to for the production, go nuts". Bam even jokingly said that he'd get frustrated when he'd purposely pitch something over-the-top and they'd approve it instantly, since it meant that he'd have to do more work just to make it happen.
  • Role-Ending Misdemeanor: Don Vito (aka Vincent Margera) was a frequent, if not a main cast member, in Viva La Bam, and garnered quite a niche popularity because of it. It all ended on December 20, 2007, when he was found guilty for sexual harrassment of a minor. While he was merely given probation for 10 years, he was also ordered not to portray his Don Vito character in the time of his probation, meaning he was not allowed to appear in any further projects involving Bam or the Jackass crew, effectively ending his on-screen career.note  He would later die on November 15th, 2015 due to organ failure, amassed from his years of his unhealthy lifestyle.
