  • Based on a Dream: According to Ken Hensley, "The Wizard" was based on a dream he had every night for a week, and as soon as he wrote the lyrics on paper, he stopped having it.
  • What Could Have Been: In 1981, when most of the lineup left, the two that remained - Mick Box and Trevor Bolder - visited their "classic" singer David Byron to try and get him to rejoin the band. He declined; the band got Peter Goalby instead, and Byron died less than four years later from alcoholism-related complications. It's unlikely that rejoining the band would have saved his life - after all, he was already looking for solace in the bottle years before, and that was what led to his expulsion from Heep in 1976 - but one cannot help wondering...
