• Copiously Credited Creator: The film's final opening credit is "An Original Screen Play Written, Directed and Produced by PRESTON STURGES".
• Creator Killer: The second of a three-movie string of flops for Sturges, proceeded by Harold Lloyd's failed comeback in The Sin of Harold Diddlebock and succeeded by Betty Grable's first flop, The Beautiful Blonde from Bashful Bend. Sturges' career never recovered and he directed only one more film before his death in 1959.
