- Dueling Works: The U-Decide campaign made this an Invoked Trope by Marvel, pitting this book up against Peter David's run of Captain Marvel and Marville by Bill Jemas. David's run ultimately won the battle overall, but arguably, Ultimate Adventures lost in the long run, as it's the one that's the most forgotten nowadays, with David's run being remembered fondly, while Marville is generally considered to be one of the worst comics of all time. Ultimate Adventures, on the other hand, is usually only brought up when discussing the aforementioned campaign, with Marville at least being remembered for something besides that.
- Schedule Slip: This miniseries was notoriously plagued by them. It was originally supposed to be a monthly series, but it took 16 months to release all six issues.
