- Life Imitates Art
- Two Girls on Broadway was Joan Blondell's first film at MGM after nearly a decade at Warner Brothers. While her character Molly in the movie is shunted aside as Pat achieves stardom, Two Girls on Broadway found Blondell relegated to a B-Movie and, worse, to second billing behind 19-year-old Lana Turner. It was a decisive negative turning point in Blondell's career, as she soon slid from leading lady to character actress.
- In the movie, Pat narrowly avoids what everyone else assumes would be a brief and disastrous marriage to Chat Chatsworth. In Real Life, right after this film was made Lana Turner entered into a brief and disastrous marriage to bandleader Artie Shaw.
