  • Prop Recycling: The small-scale model used for one of Douglas' crew coupling him up to Oliver was first used in "Buzz, Buzz" to represent one of James' crew cowering from the swarm of bees.
  • Recycled Set: The part of the island where only the diesels work was first used as the Tidmouth Station set. Notably, the station where Douglas and Oliver are stopped is Tidmouth itself, albeit with the glass canopies removed.
  • Similarly Named Works: There are also episodes of Bluey, Luz Clawthorne, Ma Fille, and Tales from the Crypt titled "Escape".
  • What Could Have Been: Concept art shows the scrapyard where Douglas finds Oliver was originally part of the Brendam Docks set (specifically the area where Bill and Ben make fun of Gordon three episodes later in "Heroes"). In the final episode, the set where Oliver is found is a redress of the Tidmouth Station set.
